Internal linking by hand has always been a pain in the ass. Recalling which topics you had previously posted, grabbing the links and finally applying the hyperlinking to the new page or document. All those steps are very time-consuming.
Luckily, users of WordPress can now use a plugin to automatically apply these internal links at scale.
Internal linking: a quick recap
Internal linking in SEO is like connecting different rooms in a house with doorways. Each doorway represents a link from one page to another on your website. These links help search engines navigate and understand your site’s structure and content.
By strategically placing these links, you improve your site’s visibility in the search results and make it easier for users to find what they’re looking for.
What is Internal Link Juicer?
Internal Link Juicer let’s you automatically link pages to each other simply by configuring a set of target keyword variants for pages. Doing this internal linking increases SEO value and navigation usability. It’s one of those plugins you wish you had found before because the technique behind it makes things ridiculously easy.
Simply follow these 3 steps and you’re done:
1) Download the plugin from your WordPress plugin directory here.
2) Go to any published post and set the keywords as shown in my screenshot below.
Put the keyword phrases here that should link back to the post (in which you configure these terms) from other posts.
Example:
- This specific post /blog/internal-link-juicer-wordpress has the below-configured keyword combinations.
Setting the keywords for internal linking inside Internal Link Juicer plugin - If I have a different post where I mention ‘internal linking’, it will link back to /blog/internal-link-juicer-wordpress automatically, but also from all other posts where the below configured keywords are found.
3. After configuring your post with the keyword combinations for posts that should link back to your post, go to your WordPress dashboard > Internal Links > Dashboard > click Build index. Doing this will build the index by creating the new entries for the keywords you submitted.
